چکیده
Due to their unique properties such as superparamagnetism, easy surface functionalization, and colloidal stability among others, silica coated iron oxide nanoparticles (SIONPs) have received remarkable attention for biomedical applications in diagnostics or therapeutics. Tuning the particle size distribution of SIONPs a function solvent, catalyst, precursor, etc., modified Stöber’s method has been extensively studied. However, there no concerted effort study effect above parameters along with chemistry (IONPs) on morphologies obtained hence resultant magnetic properties. Here, we report an in-depth investigation nature concentration mass ratio IONPs precursor groups morphology SIONPs. We here first time evolution different morphologies, namely, fused, irregular, aggregate, spherical by careful control reaction conditions. Controlling sizes exerts influential and, thus, downstream.

Synthesis of Silica-coated Iron Oxide Nanoparticles: Preventing Aggregation Without Using Additives or Seed Pretreatment
The Stober process is frequently used to prepare silica-coated iron oxide nanoparticles. This is usually achieved by seeding a reaction mixture consisting of water, ethanol and a catalyst with iron oxide particles and adding a silica precursor. The hydrolysis and condensation of precursor monomers results in the deposition of a silica layer on iron oxide particles. However, this process is acco...

متن کاملToxicity Assessment of Silica Coated Iron Oxide Nanoparticles and Biocompatibility Improvement by Surface Engineering
We have studied in vitro toxicity of iron oxide nanoparticles (NPs) coated with a thin silica shell (Fe3O4/SiO2 NPs) on A549 and HeLa cells. We compared bare and surface passivated Fe3O4/SiO2 NPs to evaluate the effects of the coating on the particle stability and toxicity. NPs cytotoxicity was investigated by cell viability, membrane integrity, mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP), reactive ...
متن کاملSynthesis of Organic Dye-Impregnated Silica Shell-Coated Iron Oxide Nanoparticles by a New Method
A new method for preparing magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles coated by organic dye-doped silica shell was developed in this article. Iron oxide nanoparticles were first coated with dye-impregnated silica shell by the hydrolysis of hexadecyltrimethoxysilane (HTMOS) which produced a hydrophobic core for the entrapment of organic dye molecules. Then, the particles were coated with a hydrophilic sh...
